Frequently Asked Questions
How much do your services cost?
My goal is for my services to effectively pay for themselves through the savings I find for you.
Because of my professional partnerships, I have access to "agent-only" rates that are not available to the general public on sites like Expedia or Priceline. Here is how my transparent pricing works:
-
Total Savings: I compare my professional rates against the best public prices available. I then "split the difference," passing a significant portion of those savings directly to you.
-
The Bottom Line: You end up paying less than you would have found on your own, and I am compensated for my research and advocacy.
How Billing Works To secure these exclusive, heavily discounted rates, my agency processes payments in a specific way. When you look at your statement, you will typically see two separate charges that add up to your total quoted package price:
-
The Supplier Charge: This is the base cost paid directly to the resort, cruise line, or tour operator at my discounted agent rate.
-
Professional Access Fee: This is a separate charge processed through my secure system (HubSpot). This fee covers my professional planning services and gives you access to these private, non-public rates.
You will always receive a detailed, itemized receipt from me before any charges are made, so you know exactly what to expect. You get the peace of mind of a professional advocate and a lower total price than the big-box websites—a true win-win!
Why should I use a travel agent?
In a world of automated booking sites and endless search results, I’m here to bring the human touch back to your vacation. Choosing a travel agent isn't just about a transaction; it’s about having a real person in your corner.
It’s Personal, Not an Algorithm
I don't just "plug and play" your dates into a computer. I take the time to learn what you actually love—and what you don’t. Whether it's finding a hotel that actually fits your style or suggesting a local spot you’d otherwise miss, my goal is to make your trip feel like yours, not a pre-packaged template.
Expert Research (Without the Stress)
You shouldn't have to spend your evenings scrolling through hundreds of conflicting reviews. While I haven't stepped foot in every single corner of the globe, I have access to professional networks, insider databases, and vetted partners that go far deeper than a standard Google search. I do the heavy lifting so you can just enjoy the countdown.
Better Value for Your Budget
One of the biggest myths is that travel agents are always more expensive. In fact, it’s often the opposite:
-
Exclusive Rates: I frequently have access to "agent-only" prices that aren't listed on public sites.
-
Added Value: Even when I can't find a lower base price, I can often secure "extras" like breakfast credits, room upgrades, or better cancellation terms.
-
Honest Savings: While I can’t guarantee a massive discount on every single booking, I am always looking for the best possible value for your hard-earned money.
I’ve Got Your Back
If things go sideways—a delayed flight, a missed connection, or a booking glitch—you don't have to call a 1-800 number and wait on hold for an hour. You just call me. I’m your advocate from the moment you start dreaming until you’re safely back home.
Can I use my loyalty points or frequent flyer miles to book my trip?
My services focus on new bookings rather than redeeming existing points or miles. Because I work directly with suppliers to secure professional rates, I am unable to use your points as a form of payment for your travel.
However, you can still EARN them! In many cases, your professional booking is still eligible to earn points. I can add your loyalty numbers (frequent flyer programs, hotel rewards, etc.) directly to your reservations so you receive credit for your stay or flight. If you have elite status, those perks often still apply to the bookings I make for you.
What I Need From You
To make the process as smooth as possible, it helps to have your "Traveler Profile" ready. Having these details on hand allows me to secure your bookings quickly and ensure every detail is tailored to you.
1. Legal Identification
-
Full Names: Exactly as they appear on your government-issued ID or Passport.
-
Dates of Birth: Required by airlines and cruise lines for all travelers.
-
Passport Details: For international travel, I will need your passport number and expiration date (pro-tip: ensure it’s valid for at least 6 months past your return date!).
2. Loyalty & Known Traveler Programs To ensure you get your perks and breeze through security, have these numbers ready:
-
Frequent Flyer Programs: Your numbers for any airlines you prefer.
-
Hotel Rewards: Numbers for Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, or any other major chains.
-
TSA PreCheck / Global Entry: Your KTN (Known Traveler Number) so it’s included on your boarding pass.
3. Preferences & "Must-Haves" The more I know, the better I can customize your experience:
-
Bedding Requests: (e.g., One King vs. Two Queens).
-
Dietary Restrictions: To ensure the hotel or cruise line can accommodate allergies or preferences.
-
Special Occasions: Is this a birthday, honeymoon, or anniversary? I want to make sure the staff knows to celebrate you!
Do you handle group travel or destination weddings?
Absolutely! Managing the logistics for a group is where having a personal travel advisor really shines. Whether it’s a family reunion, a bachelorette party, a milestone birthday, or a corporate retreat, coordinating multiple people can quickly feel like a full-time job. When you work with me, you don’t have to be the "middleman" for your friends and family.
I handle the heavy lifting, including:
-
Coordination: Making sure everyone arrives at the right place at the right time.
-
Individual Support: I can communicate with each member of your group directly to collect their specific travel details and preferences.
-
Streamlined Payments: I manage the individual payment process for each traveler, so you aren't stuck chasing people down for money or managing a complicated spreadsheet.
My goal is to make sure the organizer gets to actually enjoy the vacation rather than just managing it!
What happens if I need to cancel or change my trip?
Life happens, and when it does, you won’t have to spend hours on hold with a 1-800 number. If your plans change, you contact me directly, and I will act as your advocate to handle the logistics.
Here is how cancellations or changes work:
-
The Resort/Supplier Portion: Refunds or credits for this portion are determined by the specific policies of the hotel, airline, or tour operator. I will provide these terms to you clearly before we finalize any booking.
-
The Professional Access Fee: This fee is non-refundable. It covers the professional research, sourcing of private rates, and administrative work already completed to build and secure your itinerary.
-
Change Fees: If you just need to shift your dates, I will do my best to carry your Professional Access Fee over to your new booking, though the supplier may have their own change fees.
Protect Your Investment Because the unexpected can happen, I highly recommend travel insurance for every trip. During the planning process, I am happy to go over different insurance options with you so you can choose the level of protection that feels right for you. A good policy is the best way to protect your travel investment and provide peace of mind should you need to cancel or shorten your trip for a covered reason.
How far in advance should I start planning with you?
The short answer: It’s never too early!
Because I focus on securing exclusive, discounted rates, the best deals are often available when we have a longer lead time. Here is a general guide for the best results:
-
International Trips & Peak Holidays: 6 to 10 months in advance is the "sweet spot" to ensure the best resort availability and the deepest discounts.
-
Quick Getaways & Domestic Travel: 2 to 4 months out usually allows us enough time to find great value and secure your preferred room types.
-
Last-Minute Travel: If you’re ready to pack your bags and go now, reach out! While availability can be tighter, I’m always happy to check my professional portals to see what last-minute gems are available.
The Golden Rule: If you have your heart set on a specific resort or a popular travel date (like Spring Break or New Year's), the earlier we start, the more "Professional Access" options I’ll have to choose from for you!
